The event is free and open to the public with no admission charge for spectators and no registration fee for participating bands. Concessions will be available throughout the evening, and Grit + Grind Coffee will also be on site.
'Something that was said at our CCS Institution Day this year has stuck with me: we have five different school campuses in CCS, but each campus is uniquely different. That’s my thoughts on this event,' he said.
'We have different school systems being represented, three different schools, and several students, each with different backgrounds. Even though each student is different, we’re all here for one thing: band! Each band will perform a unique show that fits their students, promotes their schools’ beliefs, and showcases their abilities. I’m excited to see what each band brings to the field.'

Write on Covington County
"Covington County Schools hosted the first ever Night of Bands to showcase the marching band students and music from across Covington County. The event was held on the evening of Tuesday, September 8, at Straughn High School. Bands from Opp, Red Level, and Straughn attended performing their fight songs and portions of their halftime shows.
The Covington County Night of Bands was also an opportunity for college recruiters to come out and see talent from across the county. They provided preseason critiques to better prepare the bands for competition season
Bands from across the county enjoyed the participation and look forward to the Night of Bands continuing for years to come. 'It’s a great opportunity for our bands in the county to be able to come together for a night dedicated to bands,' said Opp Band Director, Tyler Logan. 'Even though it’s still early in the season, to see all of these bands making so much progress in their shows makes it very exciting to see where they’ll be by the end of the competition season.'
